2008 Post Up Challenge Highlighted by Participation by Record 14 High School Teams![]() Elite High School Division Champs Tournament Day combined spirited competition, outstanding skill and great fun thanks to Phil Galvin, Olympic Club, Basketball Commissioner and his enthusiastic and experienced staff. In addition to 14 teams made of up the Bay Area’s premier high school players, the tournament hosted 8 teams of players representing their companies. The high school age divisions were split into two categories; Elite High School and High School. There was stiff competition which led to a great day of hoops, culminating in nail biting play off games. In the end the following teams took home the prize: ![]() High School Division Champs Elite High School Division: Students from St. Mary’s College High School in Berkeley edged by a hoop students from De La Salle. The game was highlighted by incredible teamwork and, in the end, smiles and sportsmanship. High School Division: Students from Thurgood Marshall High School just got by their rivals from Burton High. All the athletes represented spirit of the day with laughs and handshakes after the tough battle. Weekend Warriors: Over the Hill squeaked out a win against Plant Co. This is the second year in a row the Plant Co athletes made it to the finals, and again showed their mettle against a group of sharp-shooting veterans. ![]() Weekend Warrior Division Champs The tournament grossed over $14,000 thanks to the sponsors of all the teams! Significant proceeds were granted to The Good Tidings Foundation and Stephen Jackson of the Warriors specifically to the restoration of the Omega Boys Club basketball court located on Tennessee Street in San Francisco.
