SPORT raises funds for after school sports for the middle schools in the San Mateo-Foster City School District. Founded in 2004, SPORT has funded over 200 teams and created opportunities for more than 3,000 student athletes. Without SPORT's efforts, there would be no after school sports.
Childhood obesity in the United States has more than tripled in the past 30 years. In the face of this national crisis, middle school sports programs are critically important. Even one time participation by middle school students has a clear impact on their success in high school. SPORT’s philosophy is that every student can be a student athlete and opportunities should be made available regardless of a student’s ability or economic status.
