VISION OF THE OLYMPIC CLUB FOUNDATION

In February 2002 the Olympic Club Foundation celebrated its tenth anniversary. At that time, the Foundation's Board of Directors decided to create a strategic plan in order to reflect on the past ten years experience and to plan in a formal way to address the challenges which will face us in the decade ahead. The strategic plan will enable the Foundation to direct its efforts toward the accomplishment of specific goals and objectives.

The strategic plan is ambitious. While we have accomplished much over the past ten years, we want to continue to grow the Foundation so that it can make an even greater impact, providing increasing athletic opportunities for less advantaged youth and enhancing the Olympic Club's good reputation and stature throughout the Bay Area and beyond.

Accordingly, our vision for the Foundation includes the following ten-year goals:

• Become known as a major force in youth athletics, providing in excess of $1 million a year in grants and helping hundreds of young people grow into community leaders.
• Grow our reserves (endowment) to a size that will fully support all of the Foundation's administrative expenses, guaranteeing that future contributions will go directly to support athletic programs for young athletes.
• Expand the awareness of the Foundation's activities among all Olympians, with the goal that 75% of our membership will contribute each year in some way to the Foundation.
• Expand the awareness of the Foundation in the community, enhancing the Olympic Club's good reputation and stature throughout the Bay Area and helping to encourage individuals of high quality to seek membership.

To achieve these goals, the Foundation will implement a number of strategies. In brief:

We plan to expand the number of participants, both Olympian and non-Olympian, in foundation events, adding new events as appropriate, while also seeking major donations through various methods and incentives. As always, participation will be entirely voluntary.

We plan to increase the impact of our grants, forming strategic partnerships with other organizations that share our mission, while also refining our grants criteria and developing a system for evaluating grantee performance against measurable goals.

We plan to design and implement a media strategy to publicize the Foundation's activities and encourage other organizations and athletic clubs in the Bay Area and around the country to follow our example.

The strategic plan will be implemented with full adherence to our core values:
